Hi! I currently have a process running on sage.math that from time to time writes data to disk. I noticed that quite often the process does not appear in top, then shortly flashes up, and disappears again. My interpretation is that it is invisible to top when data are written. But this interruption takes an unusual amount of time.
So, is there a problem with the disks or the NFS? There were also some problems when I connected with ssh: Sometimes after typing the password, nothing happened for several minutes, or the message of the day appeared, but no prompt came, or I typed "screen -r" but nothing happened for quite some time. Do other people experience the same? Are these things possibly related?
