Nope, I didn't know. After looking the code, much of which is now in Sage (or at least equivalent functions), I don't care much either. I'd so go ahead and delete it, or at least create a trac ticket for someone with an hour to spare to comb through it and stick anything not in the sage library in a patch to the sage library.
