Hello,
I am a college sophomore majoring in computer science taking a data
structures course that uses C++. I'd like to make a few contributions
(in C++) to Sage for the course project, but I'm unsure of where to
get started. My math experience goes up to vector calculus and linear
algebra. I'd be interested in work that requires fast number-
crunching, because I would be using C++. What are some good projects
for a beginner? I was thinking of somehow working with some of these
formulas for pi:

and comparing the speeds with each other and the current standard
used. Or perhaps something else. I am very open to suggestions!
Thanks,
-Tom
