I'm writing because I'd like to meet with any of the SAGE project managers at the upcoming MathFest, for two reasons. The first is that I'd like some advice. SAGE is a successful Open Source math software project that has grown very quickly. I'm the PI on a nascent math OSS project and would like to know what advice the SAGE team (especially those who have been working on SAGE the longest) can give, most particularly about growing/managing a user community. The second reason is that I think some of the work on our project may be beneficial to yours. One thing SAGE lacks is that it is not a native GUI application available for all platforms. We have been using Qt in our project, and have had to deal with issues of integrating web views, jsMath, etc. in a native, cross-platform way, and some of our experiences might be helpful. Is there anyone going to MathFest who would be interested in sitting down for a half hour or so and talking these two things over with my collaborator and I? If no SAGE folks will be at MathFest, perhaps the Joint Meetings is a better venue, but I'm not thinking that far ahead yet! Thank you for your time.
