I think Peter Jeremy (pjeremy) uses FreeBSD. He has ported a number of
packages to FreeBSD in Sage 4.1, namely FreeType, gd, libgcrypt,
libgpg-error, Linbox, NTL, Readline, Tachyon. That is a tremendous
effort, indeed! I'm CC'ing this to Peter to see if he would like to
review #5873.

This one has been merged in Sage 4.1, but somehow the corresponding
ticket is not closed. At the moment, I don't have the privilege to
close tickets.

I'm still reviewing this ticket on t2. Sage 4.1 with the updated spkg
on this ticket is still building on t2. The compilation has been going
on for over 6 hours.

<SNIP>

Tom, this is a remarkable effort on your part! Thank you very much for
sending out review requests.
