I worked pretty hard to get it to build cleanly in 4.0, see patch
6149, and I think the final 4.0 release has a 100% clean reference
manual. As soon as we got to 4.0.1.alpha0 it was broken again. But
then, one of the patches that is generating an error above was
reviewed by me, so I am as much at fault as anybody.
I actually got an error (rather than a warning) from the docstring for
elliptic curve period lattices -- a typo, "\signa", had confused
LaTeX.
