Hi Sage-Devel, There is a talk right now at MEGA about "Dynamic Galois Theory" (lazy arithmetic in QQbar!). It's an IMHO horribly misnamed topic described here: http://hlombardi.free.fr/publis/GaloisDynamic09.pdf It's really basically how to use Groebner basis to do lazy computations in splitting fields of polynomials, i.e., the main case in which one would ever use QQbar, and looks pretty interesting.
