Can you give me the output of

$ cat /etc/release

of both machines. It will be something like this:

drkir...@kestrel:[~/sage/sage-4.0.1.alpha0] $ cat /etc/release
                       Solaris 10 10/08 s10s_u6wos_07b SPARC
            Copyright 2008 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
                         Use is subject to license terms.
                             Assembled 27 October 2008

The 'u6' in the first line says this is update 6 on my machine, whereas
on the t2
kir...@t2:~$ cat /etc/release
                        Solaris 10 8/07 s10s_u4wos_12b SPARC
            Copyright 2007 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
                         Use is subject to license terms.
                             Assembled 16 August 2007

wheras the 'u4' there indicates it is Solaris 10 update 4.

I'm in the process of building gcc-4.4.0. Initially the build of it
failed, but I think I have found out how to get around that.
