I don't think there is a log in general, but for pdf files, they are
produced by running pdflatex on latex files, so you can look at the
log files, such as
$SAGE_ROOT/devel/sage/doc/output/latex/en/reference/reference.log
In general, browse
$SAGE_ROOT/devel/sage/doc/output/latex/en/
