Hi,
for this reason I did delete the entire "/usr/local/" directory from
the extra OS X installation partitions with which I now build the OS X
10.4 MacIntel resp. MacPPC binaries. I didn't trust to remove them
only from the path.
(And yes, I confirm some Mac TeX installations do put lot of things
in /usr/local/, including "libintl.3.dylib".)
I didn't try 10.5 (I'm waiting for 10.6 to upgrade to), but even if "/
usr/local/" is not empty on a clean fresh install, Sage builds do not
seem to need that, so I'd propose to remove it entirely on machines
(build systems/partitions) from which Sage binaries are made --- if
only temporarily.
