Can you run tests several times and see if the timeouts are always in
the same files or random? In the bug discussed and fixed by #5662, the
failures are random, so if you always timeout in the same files it may
be a different issue.

Maybe you can try to see if you get roughly the same amount of
timeouts before and after the disable-readline patches, and/or if you
can reproduce the issue with the maxima_expect script attached to
#5662, etc. There are hints on how to use it in the ticket comments.

Note that for Dan Drake and me (both with core 2 quad Q9xxx), the
issue happens more often using taskset -c 0,2, and for me it happens
*much* more often inside a KVM virtual machine. OTOH, your cpu is a
xeon so it may be different.

Can you see what happens when these tests "hang"? Is clisp.run waiting
on 0% cpu? If the timeouts happen always on the same file, maybe you
can try to figure out which test case hangs (assuming it's always the
same).

It may be /another/ bug, maybe you were hit by /both/ bugs before, and
only by one bug now. Or maybe you are not hit by #5662 at all... If
you are, you should be able to reproduce it with the maxima_expect
script when using maxima with readline enabled --- and then, it should
be fixed when running with readline disabled.

Best,
Gonzalo
