Thanks for the encouragement. Do you really think it is a "chicken and egg" problem? I was working on a FriCAS-1.0.4 package but was stopped by the clisp FFI requirement. Waldek has said that he intends to include an option to remove FFI in 1.0.5 so that should make things easier. But of course we have all been waiting and hoping for support for ECL in Sage which make this issue moot.
