It explicitly decomposes certain G-modules closely related to Riemann-Roch spaces (and cohomology in special cases) on modular and Hurwitz curves, where G is the automorphism group of the curve, using character computations. It was included because I was using it in several papers and wanted to use Sage as much as possible.
