Hello, basically, everything that interests somebody could be included in Sage. The procedure is first to create some bindings (we use "Cython") to call C/C++ code from python. (i.e. it should convert the vectors/matrices/tensors from sage to the specific data structures , etc.) Then, a so called "SPKG" to extend Sage by this functionality by a module. After that, it can be voted by the community if it should be included as a default or stay as an optional package.
Either way, I'm not the one who is responsible for this. Therefore I've posted your question on http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel where you can follow up on the discussion. greetings Harald ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Geza Seriani <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 16:10 Subject: LORENE & tensor To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] May be LORENE can be considered to be included in SAGE, see: http://www.lorene.obspm.fr/ LORENE is a set of C++ classes to solve various problems arising in numerical relativity, and more generally in computational astrophysics. LORENE classes [ http://www.lorene.obspm.fr/school/wednesday.pdf ] implement basic structures such as arrays and matrices, but also abstract mathematical objects, such as tensors [ http://www.lorene.obspm.fr/school/tenscal.pdf ], and astrophysical objects, such as stars and black holes. It could be a nice addition and useful to others too! Best regards, Geza Seriani ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ! Geza Seriani !
