The tutorial and reference manual are available for anyone to read. If you leap into a new language without doing a little reading, you can always run into trouble. Sage is not precisely Python, although it is built on Python as a base. You should not infer from that that the two are identical. People coming from a Mathematica background should not assume that they know all there is to know about how to use a Computer Algebra System, and instead, read the documentation.
