Another county heard from: -1 on this idea. I don't think the positives outweigh the negatives. The reasons have been well-articulated by William and Michael (among others); and the tools can be taught to do the right thing if it's a serious issue. For example "tar tf foo.spkg" works just fine on Mac OS X (10.5); and as Robert noted, you can teach the Finder with the Get-Info trick. Justin -- Justin C.
