I think creating a new language would hurt the problem more than help
it since you have yet another language to support, find developers
for, build up a critical mass, maintain, etc.  Plus, most of the
developers here would probably rather use a language rather than write
one.  Sage uses Python for these reasons.  A better solution might be
to work on tools to allow better interaction within the existing
languages.  Examples of this include Cython or getting Maxima to run
on ECL.
