This is strange. Can you tell me exactly where you found that? The docstring for orthogonal_polys http://www.sagemath.org/hg/sage-main/file/e2481e70f7f6/sage/functions/orthogonal_polys.py says 2nd kind and the reference manual (I think) comes from the docstrings...
