I recently upgraded my Ubuntu, which, of all things, forced an "upgrade" to a BETA version of firefox. To my horror, I was completely unable to override the "security" feature that blocks my personal notebook server. I spent a while trying to figure out what was wrong with the certificate, and eventually found this:
