Following Kwankyu's instructions to preface it with a PR on 39571, my build
from source of Sage succeeded on my old MacBook Pro 9,2. Sage started up
and executed simple tests with the following error

*Possible bug wrt Safari*
The 2d test plot opened a Safari window and displayed the generated png
file OK. But in the case of plot3d, Safari displays a blank window. I
presume the content is is SVG. Opening the generated file with Firefox
displays the appropriate 3D image. I suspect it would be useful to add a
check to the Sage code to check for the target browser in the case of SVG
output and offer the user a choice.

Many thanks to Kwankyu, Diam, *et al,*

Mike
