Hi Dima, Thanks for your reply. I want to share an update: The problem must have been due to mixing of things from /usr/local/brew and /opt/homebrew. 1. I uninstalled homebrew from /usr/local. 2. Reinstalled all the dependent brew packages 3. Followed all the other steps again. It started working again.
I do have the latest hardware - M4. However, things still work on it. Thanks for your help in unblocking me.
