At this link, <http://sagemath.org/doc/html/prog/node1.html>we have,
Absolutely *everybody* who uses *Sage* should contribute something back to *Sage* at some point. I have had my fun with sage, and debated, "How can I return something to the community, however small?" I submitted a couple documentation fixes, but probably to the wrong place. A few questions led to tickets & bug fixes. I have a trac account at *dmoore*. Had time when too distracted to submit code / fixes / whatever, but a bit more time now. I recently was fiddling with something that required the area of a polygon<http://mathworld.wolfram.com/PolygonArea.html>, which does not seem implemented that I can find -- this link<http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all&q=polygon+area++site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fsagemath.org&btnG=Search>doesn't return much. I wrote some code to do it. While fairly simple, perhaps others will find it useful. It's not too hard to code a few other things as, say, centroid. A start -- the usual observations of the construction of Rome. Or if other things are "hotter,' so be it. Wasn't sure where such should go. Maybe < http://www.sagemath.org/hg/sage-main/file/211b127eab5d/sage/plot/graph.py >? Read through the coding guide & gave what I thought a basic format to my function, possible "gotchas!," what not. Of perhaps some note in a different department, I recently posted something at published workbooks <https://www.sagenb.org/pub>, but there is an Internal Server Error when I try to go there. The error has been there a good while. Probably deserves to be looked at. Thanks for ideas.
