We have many critical projects that are already hosted in separate repositories at https://github.com/sagemath/ -- some of these were split out from the Sage library.
In particular: https://github.com/sagemath/cypari2 https://github.com/sagemath/sagetex https://github.com/sagemath/pplpy https://github.com/sagemath/cysignals https://github.com/sagemath/memory_allocator Volunteers are needed who can set up automatic backups for the repos, issues and PRs of these repositories. This is https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/34624 It is preparation for the transition of the main Sage repository and tickets from Trac to GitHub.
