The urgency of short term issues does not imply the urgency of long term issues. Moreover, I even think the discussion on the long term issues should be done when the urgent short term issues are dealt with to make sure that we are making the good decision without losing part of the community. I created my account on trac in 2008, and I still enjoy the current interface. So I need clear arguments for the change to anything else.
