Dear all, I had a failed build on Debian Linux - it turns out there was some interference with whatever was already on my *LD_LIBRARY_PATH* variable that was set to */usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu* . Unsetting the variable solved the problem, mentioning in case this is useful to anyone else.
