Dear Sage folks,

Marc Culler has been working on a fully signed and notarized version of the
SageMath binary for macOS, with the goal of eliminating the many problems
plaguing Sage on that platform caused by Apple's gatekeeper antimalware
protections. He now has posted a beta version at:

https://github.com/3-manifolds/Sage_macOS/releases/tag/v1.0-beta.2

and needs as many people to try it out as possible and report any problems
on the GitHub issue tracker.

The app supports macOS High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, and Big Sur and can
run Sage either in a terminal window or as a Jupyter notebook. Please try
it out!

I should emphasize that I am just the messenger and the credit for all the
hard work leading to this huge step forward in providing a user-friendly
macOS binary is entirely due to Marc (https://marc-culler.info/).

Thanks,

Nathan
