Hello,
I did forget to mention that I will be playing release manager the
next two releases (and maybe more to come).
Here at Sage Day 6 we did discuss some more procedure on what is
needed for a patch/spkg to make it into a release:
- somebody besides the patch/spkg author/authors needs to review the
patch and comment on it in trac.
- Only unanimously positive commented on patches will be merged, if
there is a dissenting opinion the issue should be raised in sage-
devel.
- if we cannot agree on the resolution of a patch it is put up for a
vote via the JSage panel. The exact procedure for that was discussed
during Sage Days 5 and somebody ought to write down the rules
- If you post a spkg you should describe the changes and only attach
one spkg per ticket (because we may only merge one ticket [Josh did
open a ticket with three new spkgs and in the future that shouldn't
happen - but leave this as is for now since it looks like all three
spkgs will be merged]
- trivial fixes (think all the spelling fixes Paul posted the last
week alone, thank you for that again) will be merged without the need
to comment.
