Hi: First, i really enjoyed SD4 and am amazed by the talented undergrads and grads involved with SAGE. I feel very honored to be part of it and to be associated with each of you.
On a separate topic, I have a SAGE design question. I'm guessing it is possible to add a flag to "make", like "make with-fortran" which will try to compile scipy if (say) gfortran is found but skip that otherwise. This way, scipy can be included with SAGE until Josh finishes working out the bugs (I have complete confidence in him) for the compilation of scipy and the default install from source process stays exactly the same, whether you have an internet connection or not. Once Josh finishes his magic, then we can add the attempt to try to download gfortran from the internet and then compile. With this added make flag, Josh can ask for people on the list to try out and test his set-up and comment. Any thoughts on this idea? - David --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URLs: http://sage.scipy.org/sage/ and http://modular.math.washington.edu/sage/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
