 Assalamualaykum Warahamtullah,

Dear Abdelmonam Kouka,

I've very impressed on the idea of OS for muslim. Sabily is strategic assets
for Muslim world.
And I very appreciate for idea to localize it like Sabily Indonesian
version, each country has own culture and uniqueness be it in government
regulation, interest and majority of mainstream muslim its self.

>From time to time Sabily need to be improved. I've tried using VirtualBox on
my Windows OS, looks great to me.
I feel it's much better if I open the OS appear masjid of my neighborhood
and some local content. I still develop small project masjidraya.org,
probably it can be integrated inside or just a shortcut.
We are muslim in Singapore, we intend to have Sabily Singaporean version.
I've sent email to Muslim authority here regarding about this OS, lets see
what the outcome.

Syukron, Wassalam.

Best Regards,
Martin Adhie N.

Wa alaykom assalem wa rahmato Allah wa baraketoh,

Dear Martin Adhie,

I was very happy to receive your mail it is great for me to know that there
is Muslims in Singapore that interest into Sabily :) sorry because I respond
you late because I was in exams.

For the idea of having a localized version for Sabily I don't like the idea
and I will explain you way, when I see the Sabily Indonesian version I don't
say nothing but I was not happy but now I think that I should explain that
in public, in fact: first of all having many sub-versions of Sabily will
divide our efforts in developing and spreading Sabily, secondly we start
Sabily in the aim to have something that unify Muslims around the world and
that's why most of our software are translated in many languages and they
are open to be translated into any other new language: for example if there
is no translation for Minbar or Zekr or Monajat... in Singapore language so
you can ask access to translation files for these software and then
translate them into your language and they will appear in next version of
Sabily as a part of a great project for Muslims; I think it is better than
translating these files and then build a localized version, another
arguments is that we need any new idea and any new developer so it will be
great to capitulate all our power in one great project.
Well this is my point of view and we need to discuss that with other members
(please when you respond me say to me if you are OK that I forward this mail
into mailing list to start discussion about this issue).

For your last point: having a map of Masajid, really I like the idea very
much!!! we can make a unique concept and use it as a sub-project of Sabily
and as a GPS software for mobile devices...
I think that we should release our Masajid Map around the world (with the
contribution of community, and it will take a lot of time, we can start by a
small version and by the time it will grow up inshalla) then we can
integrate this map into tangoGPS a software that we can install it on ubuntu
and/or on mobile devices. what do you think?

Salem

Thanks for the reply Abdelmonam,

With regard to your question about Sabily development, I think yes, you need
to speak out about how to spread Sabily the way it should be. It requires
clear vision & mission, global architect, roadmap, guideline, so that
Muslim worldwide will understand clearly on how to contribute and to make
this OS suit with their need and preferences. The OS serve for Muslim World,
installed on every masjid, Madrasah, Muslim home or even for Muslim
business.

I think it is necessary to form a formal/legitimate organization, say Sabily
Foundation, you and JMehdi as board directors and chief architect. Before
that you might wrap up your study faster and concentrate on this
development.
It is necessary to approach OIC (Organisation of The Islamic Conference)
officials and introduce this project through out it's member, that's big
deal.

Btw where I can drop some suggestions and ideas? And Can I get JMehdi email
address?
First time I load up Sabily I still found software which I expect should not
exist (un-Islamic) there, e.g.: games chess, solitaire, black jack. And also
Wine application, somehow can be rename as 'Milkshake' maybe. And for sure
people need local content and theme beside language.

About Masjid Directory, yes that all about, and integration with Sabily OS
would be wonderful.
I'll take charge of this project, I may need your advice to start with more
serious development.
Muslim UK also had done a good job, almost complete,
http://mosques.muslimsinbritain.org, but I couldn't reach the person
recently.

Wassalam,
Martin Adhie N.
