Also, you should follow up on your own thread, I don't think this is related to s4r creation. Anyway, coming back to your initial issue, you mentioned having 4 keys and 4 hosts. There is no guarantee that if you have only 4 keys they all get mapped to different nodes, unless you design the hash function accordingly. Typical use cases with S4 usually involve millions of different keys.
