Thanks John

I'm afraid very few people at the moment have an intimate understanding
of the s3cmd codebase. Guess what - I no longer remember every detail of
every module either. And it's not really required - if you know python
and can tell a bad code from a good code you are able to review most
patches.

I'm happy to help reviewing complex or tricky ones but honestly these
don't come along very often - one recent major change was multipart
upload and even that was in the end implemented in quite a non-intrusive
way.

The role is also about user interaction - I haven't been active on the
mailing list for a while and that's a shame. It doesn't shed a good
light onto the project. I really appreciate the community is doing a
very good job here though!

Also we've got s3tools-bugs list where people send their bugreports -
and they actually do! That should be monitored from time to time to
identify any commonly encountered problems and work on them.

Don't be afraid about the unfamiliarity of the codebase. Once you start
integrating patches you'll get more and more familiar with different
areas of the program, you will see how things fit together and what
needs to be worked on.

And best of all - I'll send the successful applicant a postcard :)

So? Who's up? John? Someone else?

Michal
