Unfortunately not.
I will change it and add an optional fourth argument, and if any
of the arguments is .. say, hyphen-minus -, then no such thing is
written.  Does this sound sound?

Thanks for the quick response, Steffen.  Yes, that sounds as if it would 
do what I want.
