I will do this, but i cannot use the patch because the test
changed quite a lot on the development branch in the last seven
years (ie v14.9. series) -- for example there is
: ${OSSL_NEWKEY_SPEC:=rsa:2048} # to avoid future "key too small"
due to a similar issue, and i will use a similar approach for
SHA-1. (It is a bit more complicated due to the checksum, of
course.) Thanks for reporting this issue!

Uh, that is *very* old.

It surely was, the code is changed but we still ensure *from* is
a valid email address. What is your intention in using an invalid
From: (or Sender:; or Author:) in an email message? That is, why
are you setting *from* at all if you want the MTA to expand it to
a real name valid on the internet?
