Hello list, it doesn't really affect anyone, it was planned for v14.9 already, and any occurrence of the FTP protocol was removed from the README of v14.9.0-pre4 as well as the website about a month ago.
I thought and think that except for a single connection all FTP I/O that has ever been seen was a walk through the desert. You know, some two decades ago i maybe was less funeral dry, and the main header of my C++ thing started (after copyright and version number that also was multi-inclusion protection) with // \|/ // _ . // | // = // | but, as you would see, neither do i have those hairs, nor the goat beard anymore. (In fact the hairs were already pretty thin back then, so it was almost a lie.) That is to say, even though Pure-FTPd has been updated immediately with Russ Cox's note on oss-sec, i think it is not worth the effort to update this now, for the few weeks to pass before the new release, so i have simply turned it off. Thanks for your understanding. Would be cool to have some nice directory listing for HTTP, as well as synchronous deletes and the possibility to download only the body via POP3, .. but it's not like that.
