Hello list, FYI,
i've updated [next]. It is a long road to the «Vulture», the
features i'm really for are missing. Hopes for a release
candidate on christian christmas are declining, and at the moment
i think it'll be February until the release will be at the gates.
Anyway, a lot of things, also in preparation for what is to come,
have already landed, like
- completely rewritten colour implementation with new `colour'@89
and `mono'@142 commands (thus backward-incompatible, see
"Coloured display"@29) including 256 color support (as requested
by Gavin). Also aterm, gnome, konsole, kterm support colour.
if t && $features =@ COLOUR
if $TERM !@ 256
colour sum-dotmark ft=reverse,fg=blue dot
colour sum-header fg=blue dot
colour sum-thread fg=blue dot
colour sum-thread fg=magenta
else
colour sum-dotmark ft=bold,ft=reverse,fg=52 dot
colour sum-header ft=bold,fg=52 dot
colour sum-thread ft=bold,fg=52 dot
colour sum-header fg=166 older
colour sum-header fg=88
colour sum-thread fg=172
endif
mono sum-dotmark ft=bold,ft=reverse dot
mono sum-header ft=bold dot
mono sum-thread ft=bold dot
if $TERM !@ 256
colour view-from_ fg=brown
colour view-header ft=bold,fg=red from,subject
colour view-header fg=red
else
colour view-from_ fg=142
colour view-header ft=bold,fg=red from,subject
colour view-header fg=124 to,cc
colour view-header fg=203 reply-to,mail-followup-to,user-agent
colour view-header fg=88
endif
colour view-msginfo fg=green
colour view-partinfo fg=brown
mono view-header ft=bold from,subject
mono view-msginfo ft=reverse,ft=underline
mono view-partinfo ft=bold,ft=underline
endif
- `source'@190 can read from shell command output if the last
character of the argument is the vertical bar:
source "gpg -qd ~/.s-nailrc-private.gpg |"
Note that due to this and an additional *netrc-pipe* possibility
that is not yet included here WANT_AGENT a.k.a.
*agent-shell-lookup* have been obsoleted (for v15), despite
being *v15-compat* by themselves. Sorry! The new approach is
much more generic and this preferable.
- *mime-counter-evidence*@365 bit 4 has been implemented, i.e.,
to request content inspection on application/octet-stream MIME
parts
- many new *pipe-TYPE/SUBTYPE*@379 trigger characters; note the
manual of [next] already talks about "mailcap file" support, but
this is because i was too lazy to rebase that (the variable
sections of the manual have been united and resorted
alphabetically, and unfortunately after the decision of
a different development path was made), it is not true; [next]
ships the necessary preconditions already, though, like
prefilling a temporary file, automatic temporary unlinking,
"needsterminal" etc. E.g.
set pipe-application/pdf="@=&@\
trap \"rm -f \\\"${NAIL_FILENAME_TEMPORARY}\\\"\" EXIT;\
trap \"exit 75\" INT QUIT TERM;\
mupdf \"${NAIL_FILENAME_TEMPORARY}\""
- support for compilation with tcc, the Tiny C compiler.
- IMAP is gone. I think isync is a good option, after all.
- Assorted changes:
. Add *history-{file,size}*, obsolete *NAIL_HIST{FILE,SIZE}*
. Add *message-inject-{head,tail}*, obsolete *NAIL_{HEAD,TAIL}*
. Decouple -H from -L: it used to be -eL instead!
. Explicit "load" subcommand for `netrc'.
. Add `search' alias for `from' (Predrag Punosevac)
. `dotmove' command moves the "dot" by one. In xterm
-compatible it will be aliased to ^CursorUp and ^CursorDown.
. Build system: SYSCONFRC no longer includes SYSCONFDIR
. FIX of `Lreply' with multiple messages: if in compose mode
commands are executed via `~:' then when replying to the next
message will access invalid memory (this is on [master]).
. Dotlocking will special-case and tolerate failures which are
caused by read-only filesystems.
Have fun!
