Members of the list: I have run into a problem migrating from heirloom-mailx to s-nail. When sending a message under heirloom-mailx, after I would hit control-D, I would be prompted for the password, I would enter it, the mail would be sent and all would be fine.
With s-nail, when hitting control-D, I am _not_ prompted for a password, but receive the following message: smtp-server: 530-5.5.1 Authentication Required. Learn more at smtp-server: 530 5.5.1 http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?answer=14257 u4sm18424115pbs.60 - gsmtp "/home/myaccount/dead.letter" 24/427 ... message not sent. And so since I am not prompted for a password, I need to set up authentication some other way? Perhaps with a ssl-ca-file ? This is what my current .mailrc file looks like: account gmail { set folder=imaps://[email protected] set smtp-use-starttls set ssl-verify=ignore set imap=imap.gmail.com:993 set smtp=smtp.gmail.com:587 set [email protected] set imap-cache=~/MYMAIL } account gmail Perhaps somone could coach me on what I need to do to send messages with s-nail? Reading my mail with s-nail works just fine.
