For all the interested razor blade surfers, |I think i got laden by Peter's message, so i finally got around |and implemented Mail-Followup-To: for S-nail.
i have completely rewritten the participating code parts (though "on top"): users which use S-nail interactively and `reply' or `Lreply' should see differences, but plain `mail'ers will not. Nothing changed from the user interface point of view. Background: the codebase is not really ready to deal with such improved facilities like Mail-Followup-To:), where the message producing code needs to have detailed knowledge on "who" (command) initiated the production, and "how" (honoured a given Mail-Followup-To:, for example, and read on). And even though the result was quite satisfying for normal replies, it was not really acceptable for corner cases due to that current state of art, and so i extended the "header" structure to carry some state all down the call chain, instead of waiting for v15 with the global environment carriers, but which will do the trick _for real_ and good. (What i hope.) Also, i thought some more about what i want S-nail to do, instead of blindly trying to mimic mutt(1). E.g., if we automatically learn a list from a List-Post: header, then if the list set Reply-To: (to a single address), too, we actively ignore List-Post: but instead assume that the Reply-To: content is what is supposed to be the list. This fixes IETF and libpng announce messages for me, for example (at least with `Lreply'). Some more changes on [next]: `varedit' can now be used to create variables, `reply' and `Lreply' can reply to multiple messages, iterating over all the given in order. |It is all brand new, of course, and only for the brave hardcore |users, which i hope exist. It looks quite promising however |Have fun and -- Ciao from Germany! Oh yes, i absolutely emphasize this. --steffen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ S-nail-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/s-nail-users
