Hi Folks, We have a draft on the basic ideas of ARN, the purpose is to
share what we are doing today to connect application's requirement
and network's capability. Maybe not good enough today🙂, comments
are welcome. https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-yang-rtgwg-arn-framework/ Some Background: In the past, we rely on QoS(dscp/tc) to express the quality requirement. The problem is on the border of trusted domain, but all of the QoS fileds will be removed when receiving packets outside the trusted domain. We are trying to have a new mechanism to alleviate that. Thus we propose ARN (Application Responsive Network), whose vision is to allow applications to call network resources as if they were calling an operating system, while also protecting user privacy and preventing information exposure inside the network. We have cooperated with a number of equipment vendors to carry out code implementation and laboratory testing, and the experimental results are very positive, and we believe that the use of ARN will effectively promote the interaction between the network ecosystem and the application ecosystem, and can achieve a win-win situation. --BR, Feng Yang （杨锋） |
