If you're using a yum-based distro for which there is a relatively
well-made rsyslog package (just maybe a bit outdated or with a different
version in dependencies that you need), why not just get the original
SRPM, change the dependencies and simply rebuild the package?
The less stuff you have installed outside of your package manager, the
more complicated system maintenance becomes.

Hi,
Would like to confirm and help with steps to build latest stable rsyslog with
openssl (non gnutls) support on AWS EC2:
https://www.rsyslog.com/files/download/rsyslog/rsyslog-8.2310.0.tar.gz
yum install libestr-devel libfastjson-devel libuuid-devel libgcrypt-devel
libcurl-devel gnutls-devel openssl openssl-devel vim -y
./configure --enable-gnutls --enable-openssl #–-enable-omstdout
got:
checking for LIBFASTJSON... no
configure: error: Package requirements (libfastjson >= 0.99.8) were not met:
Requested 'libfastjson >= 0.99.8' but version of libfastjson is 0.99.4
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Please advise solving above issue for AWS 4.14.328-248.540.amzn2.x86_64
Or if you could advise which rsyslog + openssl support rpms which could be
downloaded for 4.14.328-248.540.amzn2.x86_64
Thanks, Bests,
Mike
