first off, test writing to local files, it's much easier to see what's actually
happening
also, log using the template RSYSLOG_DebugFormat so that you can see exactly
what the contents of all the variables are
you can also use exec_template() to assign the output of a template to a file.
other posts in this thread talk about how to do replacements in a template.
I usually prefer to parse the log and create a new one to using regex, let alone
regex replacements.
