Hi,

I don't know if there is any interest in correcting spelling errors.

If yes, the FOSS server fossies.org offers the feature "Source code misspelling reports":

 https://fossies.org/features.html#codespell

Such reports are normally only generated on request, but as Fossies administrator I have just forced an analysis for the latest rsync "master" version using a special "test" folder that isn't really integrated into the Fossies services and should also not accessible to search engines:

 https://fossies.org/linux/test/rsync-master.tar.gz/codespell.html

That URL should always redirect to the report for the latest master version so currently to

https://fossies.org/linux/test/rsync-master.fa9c8d0.200410.tar.gz/codespell_hist.html

Just for information there are also three supplemental pages
 https://fossies.org/linux/test/rsync-master.tar.gz/codespell_conf.html
showing some used "codespell" configurations and
 https://fossies.org/linux/test/rsync-master.tar.gz/codespell_fps.html
showing all resulting obvious "false positives" and
 https://fossies.org/linux/test/rsync-master.tar.gz/codespell_hist.html
showing changes regarding found spelling errors compared to previous analyzed versions.

Ok, most errors are "only" in comments and so not directly user visible but three errors were found in the file rsync.yo so appearing probably in the rsync.1 manpage.

By the way, if JavaScript is enabled, some information about the obviously a little bit mysterious "error context type character" is offered by a tooltip if the mouse is just over that string or over the "T" in the table header (by the way, clicking the "T" sorts the context characters) or over such a context character itself.

Regards

Jens
