This bug has been stale for a while. In order to dive in and have a go at working out what is wrong and how to fix it ; is signing up with the samba bug tracker required? Probably will not have time to look at it immediately. Just (A) pinging the bug and (B) wondering how patches are submitted or if there is a patch already in existance?
