I've looked at the previous messages on this issue and I think I need
something similar but I'm not sure if it's the same. I'm using
--files-from to update a list of new/changed files. However, I also
have a list of supposedly removed ones. I can remove them directly but
I'd like rsync to check that they're really no longer in the source
before removing.

If I include the removed ones in --files-from I just get an
error. Is there a way to make rsync remove these? In fact I'd like a
--delete-from...

This is to update our [official country] mirror of kernel.org using
their change notification list.
