one would think that Apple would be working on the issue, but i've
found that the discussion about it, well, 'wanders' a bit. and, as
usual, apple remains forever tight-lipped about what's coming ...
personally, i'd rather see an 'officially sanctioned' solution from
the rsync team here anyway.
given the work on extended attributes on osx in trunk, i'd guess it
_will_ come, in time.
The Apple-supplied rsync in 10.4 does "work" but with numerous
caveats, and it doesn't handle ACLs correctly either, at the moment.
And I definitely agree: something officially sanctioned, as part of
the official release of rsync would be far preferable to me. If Apple
would help in that matter, then great. But I certainly don't know if
that is or might (be) happening.
