That's probably because you didn't run ./prepare_source.
However, you
don't want to be running the CVS version for anything other than helping
with development at the moment.  We're very early in the development of
3.0.0, and there's a lot of stuff that will be changing in the new
protocol 30 in the days ahead.

good enough. usage of 2.6.9 is where i should be focussed, anyway.

question -- it seems from (now) my experience, and from recent threads
on list, that 'mtime' attribute is not currently preserved by w/
2.6.9+xattr.

there was mention of a patch in/for 300/head (?), but not of any
backport to 2.6.9.

does such a patch exist? and, is it planned for 2.6.9/2.7.x anytime soon?
