Hello

I am backing up a FreeBSD machine to an HFS+ formatted disk on a Mac OS X 10.4 machine. Whenever it encounters a file that is a socket, I get an error message like:

rsync: mknod "/Volumes/BigShiny/Backups/va_servers/shiraz/tmp/mysql.sock" failed: Invalid argument (22)

Is this because rsync is incapable of creating socket files on Mac? I've done some searching for this issue and it seems to come up for Mac users only.

On FreeBSD I have rsync version 2.6.2, on the Mac I have rsync version 2.6.3.

Thanks very much
Jesse
