-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello,
first, a big THANKS to everyone who is involved in developing rsync. This great tool has simplified my life so much. I use rsync to synchronize some SMB-Shares to an external firewire-disk. So I mount the shares into my filesystem (read-only), mount the external disk and rsync them. Unfortunately I've some troubles relating the "file has vanished"-message. I get this message when I try to mirror the whole content of the smb-shares to the fw-disk, which I already synced before. When I mount an empty disk and try to rsync, the error doesn't occure. As I read in the mailinglist archive, the message appeares, when a file is modified/deleted after the "building file list" process has finished. In my case, the error is showed up by synchronizing files that were not touched by any user in the last months. I also wonder, why these files are not mirrored on the external disk, although I have adequate permissions. I'm running Debian 3.1 sarge with rsync 2.6.5 Maybe, somebody can help me. Thanks so much Holger -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFELO93O0QDuZMdP0sRAlTAAJ95MEfCy0CXLJ0dDU/kn3x2dZx39QCguS/w Kei1avpiZUfelar+Sx0upeg= =hrOk -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe or change options: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/rsync Before posting, read: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
