You can't have a file called:
1124816518.8634_2.mailbox:2,S
in windows.

Perhaps rsync needs a destination filename mangling regexp option?

I suppose you'd also want one for source filenames so you can
rsync in the opposite direction, even though if you're not careful
you won't get symmetry...
