Hi,
I had this problem as well but /etc, and /etc/rsyncd.conf
are readable by all. I fixed it by giving a symlink from
the user directory to the config file. When I chroot, the
manpage says something to this effect. But is a symlink the
correct method of fixing it?

>> $ rsync -e 'ssh -i .ssh/id_rsa'
>[EMAIL PROTECTED]::www/index.html index.html> rsync: unable
>to open configuration file "rsyncd.conf": No such file or>
>directory>
