Hi! I just wanted you to know that I'm now the official "rsync for cygwin" package mantainer. Actually on cygwin mirrors can be downloaded package rsync-2.4.6-2[-src].tar.bz which is standard rsync-2.4.6.tar.gz as found on rsync.samba.org with Wayne's first patch aplpied (it solves a "read error" problem in cygwin port). I've tested it and it seems to work ok (both with cygwin and linux server and client, using ssh or not), but rsync uses and options are too many to let me say "I've tested it thoroughly".
